Lego celebrates 50 years in Australia by placing various installations across the country. The latest installation is found in the outbacks of Broken Hill, New South Wales, where they have created a small area of Lego forestry. Residents were surprised to wake up to a life-size 15 piece forest, which were created to a 1:1 ratio of the original Lego tree piece. Meaning the toy piece was increased 66 times bigger to make the pine tree. The trees stand at 4 metres high and huge Lego flower pieces scatter across the land.
Festival of Play is Lego’s celebration of half a century’s brick and play since the first Lego brick arrived in Australia. The festival will run until the end of the year, so from now until then the forest installation will pop-up in various locations.
