Stockholm-based designers humans since 1982 have created the Surveillance Chandelier light fixture. Formed from powder coated aluminium surveillance cameras, they hang from the ceiling just like a classic chandelier. With 5 to 6 CCTV cameras set to illuminate the room. Dimensions: 100cm x 90 cm x 75 cm

The lighting object comes in an edition of ten pieces, each hand-made by the designers. These set of chandeliers are sure to liven up any interior!

Three-dimensional stools in Knit

These knitted decorated stools by Claire-Anne O’Brien are inspired by elements of the knitted stitch itself such as rings and loops, the structures are revealed and celebrated through exaggerated scale in bold and textured forms. Lambswool and Sheep’s wool, in a mix of hand and machine knit stitches, are constructed into playful statement pieces.

Claire-Anne is a textile designer specialising in knitting. Originally from Ireland she has recently graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters in Textiles. Her work plays with technique and scale creating playful and tactile fabrics for interiors. This sculptural approach to textiles brings fabrics to life in three dimensions through form exploration and furniture.

Ixxi Decorate Your Wall

Ixxi is a modular hanging system that joins cards together in a pattern to create wall art. The Dutch company lets you enlarge a single image, create a collage, or create an abstract pixelated piece of your choice. You can upload your own image or choose from their catalogue of images. The image is then enlarged and divided onto the high quality matte Ixxi paper. Each printed card is 20 x 20 cm and joins together with their x’s and i’s to produce a wall piece or room divider.

The possibilities are endless.

Zaha Hadid Z Speedboat

British architect Zaha Hadid was commissioned by American art dealer Kenny Schachter to create sleek 7.5 metre all black limited edition Z boat.

Only 12 boats and 4 prototypes will be built and ready for your purchasing pleasure. The Z boat is due to to be manufactured in France by Shoreteam in 2013.

The beautiful all black form and asymmetrical geometric shapes create a stunning illusion hovering on the surface of the sea.

“The asymmetrical design is sculptural in appearance while practically affording more seating accommodations. In a sense, the bespoke boat is as much a work of art as a Cisitalia sports car in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The idea is to think of vessels and vehicles as highly individualistic expressions of art, architecture and design reflecting the edge of what is possible using the most advanced means, including materials, software systems and methods of fabrication.” – Zaha Hadid Architects.

Rayfish Footwear brings customisation to a whole new level, by offering customers the opportunity to generate their own pair of personalised hi-top trainers made from genuine stingray leather.

Rayfish Footwear have developed and engineered their first fully bio-customised stingray using a technique that allows you to design your own transgenic stingray. The DNA of the stingray are stored in their genetic library, to identify the genes responsible for colour and pattern, then they implant the synthetic ‘supergene’ cluster into foetal rays before they are born.

As the stingray grows and mature, they start to display the predetermined patterns on their skin. Markings and colouration from dozens of varying species can be combined, resulting in an infinite variety of shoe designs.

Using the brand’s online grow sneaker tool you can select elements from dozens of animal patterns and remix them into something that nature itself could never have even imagined. working on the manufacturing principle of ‘one fish, one shoe’.

Leaves Inspired Sideboards by Angelo Tomaiuolo for Tonin Casa

Italian architect industrial designer Angelo Tomaiuolo has come up with a range of nature inspired sideboards for product design studio Tonin Casa. LEAVES is a collection of storage units that takes inspiration from nature. The delicacy of a three-dimensional printed leaf creates original compositions on the unit’s door.

The linear geometries and organic design define LEAVES. The pure white colours emphasise the cleanliness and organic nature of the design.

Marble Effect Armchair by Maurizio Galante

At first glance this armchair looks cold and uncomfortable, but if you walk closer you will discover that it is in fact only an effect. Haute couture designer Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman designed for the Italian design manufacturer Cerruti Baleri the elaborate Louis XV goes to Sparta marble effect armchair.

Maurizio Galante’s Louis XV goes to Sparta has the most uninviting feel, but in reality it is constructed out of materials that ensure comfortable seating.

According to the designers: ”The chair’s framework is composed of a plywood structure and CFC-free soft polyurethane foam, with an internal dacron cover and separate seating cushion made of polyurethane. The piece is then upholstered with an external cover made of 100% silk that is finished with a photographic print of carrara marble. Louis XV comes in three marble tattoo versions: carrara, which is currently in production, along with portasanta and grande antico.”

With an impressive appearance, this armchair can be placed in any contemporary living room or on the terrace for a striking effect that could be considered minimal or extravagant.
