Martino Gamper took elements from one part of the original work and adding to another, using a kind of physical collage to create new designs.

Working with the Udine factory team, Martino Gamper hybridised the forms using foam structures moulded over steel and wooden structures as a theme to tie together the various couches, chairs and seating – finished with colourful patchwork-like fabric.

A nominee for the Danish Design Awards 2012, Haiku is available as a two or three seater with leather or fabric upholstery.

The modular design allows extension for larger spaces. It starts with an armless chair that enable addition of universal arms to transform it into an armchair.

If more seating space is required, simply add additional armless chairs to create a long sofa. Due to SMS’ flexibility, the sofa is ideal for someone with a studio flat and who will in future move to something bigger in size.

The incorporated storage is a bonus addition to a great piece of modern design.

The quilted jacket sofa is a prime example of fashion and design, entitled: Sit on my Doudoune . Gilles & Bossier maintained all the design aesthetics of Moncler using a technical nylon, goose down padding and boudin quilting to make the sofa.

Those are the original materials and processes used to make the distinguished Moncler jackets. “The result is a graphic take of the armchair that is essential, almost abstract, underscored by an absolute white finish.”

Endless ways to sit, lie down and relax on this sofa.

Float is a range of sofas with modular arm and head rest pieces. They come with three different backs that can be upholstered in one colour or in a combination of fabrics from the collection called Cairo that Karim Rashid designed especially for Sancal. Inspired by Rashid’s birthplace in Egypt.

Float is a contemporary couch designed for multiple purposes. This slim floating seat with incorporated back wall provides complete privacy in open spaces, to rest back on, hang one’s scarf or coat on or simply wait in the secluded area given by its high back.

One of the main characteristics of Karim’s designs is their colourful combinations, which at first sight seem not possible. Sancal products, on the other hand, are less vibrant. Float offers the perfect balance, as we have granted greater relevance to the textures and reserved the touches of colour for smaller detail such as the headrest or cushions.

According to Bonaldo, Vita will be available in several modular units, affording several different composition configurations.

The oak frame is exposed giving a nice contrast to the Kvadrat Hallingdal fabric that it’s shown in. The single row of button tufting adds a nice tailored detail without over-working the details.
